I am a BIG fan of Sex and the City.
Watched the original series on HBO.
Cancelled my HBO as soon as it was over, when the C.S. rep asked me why I was cancelling…I responded matter of factly “Because Sex and the City has ended…why else would I need it?”
I have every season on DVD.
I still watch the edited for TV reruns on TBS, and can recite the edited words!

SO. There was no doubt in my mind when they started talk of a movie that I was going to see it.
On the big screen.
Opening weekend.
They got my $9.50 yesterday.
I sat in a theatre full of giggling, cackling women - some of them dressed to the hilt as if they were at a red carpet affair - and watched my movie. Our movie.
I didn’t know any of them.
But we are part of a sisterhood.
We laughed.
We cried.
We applauded.

I LOVED it.

My latest Netflix was Knocked Up, and I thought it was a good flick….good story, and dern funny. Boy meets girl at a bar, they get trashed and have a one night stand, and oops - one slipped by the goalie and girl is preggers. The roommates were hilarious, they smoked enough weed to send them all to one of those drug treatment centers, and dropped a lot of F bombs…but still an enjoyable movie. I was talking today about how much I enjoy my Netflix subscription, for $8 a month I am watching a movie a week, I could watch more if I had the time…..I love the convenience of just keeping my list updated on their website and mailing the movies back….I usually forget what was on my list, so each week the movie is a surprise.

Can you believe last night I watched the movie Young Guns for the first time? Found the special edition DVD at our community yard sale yesterday for $5, so I bought it. Glad I did, as I thought it was a great flick, Emilio Esteves did a good job in his role as “Billy the Kid”.
Next on my list to buy? Bull Durham 20th Anniversary Edition - which I am sure I will not find at a yard sale anytime soon! I LOVE Kevin Costner, he’s soooo HAWT!

I cannot find Survivor in my TV Guide for this week. There is NCAA BAsketball listed at it’s regular Thursday 8pm slot, and last week Survivor was on Wednesday because of basketball, but Big Brother is on now….so WHAT HAPPENED TO SURVIVOR THIS WEEK?

I have decided not to go anywhere for Super Bowl. I bought some snacks and beer, and invited my neighbor and her dog (a female daschund - Snoopy’s girlfriend!) over to watch. Last year I went to a party here at our clubhouse, but there are a lot of retiree’s, and the food and beer were gone well before halftime, and, THEY HAD NO CHIPS! How do you watch the Super Bowl without chips? So, yeah, don’t feel like watching the game in closed captioning service with the Q Tips this year, so Snoopy and I are hosting our own small gig! Snoopy loves football!

I am still enjoying How to Look Good Naked with Carson Kressley…I love how he takes women who wear plus size clothing, and shows them they they truly are beautiful, and represent the majority of the women in America! Too much time is spent focusing on dieting, too much press is given to skinny celebrities (who I think look unhealthy anyway) - we are raising a nation of young girls with an unnatural vision of who they really are! Teach the girls, and young women in your life to love themselves, and their bodies for who they are on the inside - we do not need all that focus on everything else!

My Sister alerted me to this, before I had watched my DVR’ed episode! In her defense, she didn’t know I watched - but I have been watching The Apprentice since season 1! The Celebrity Apprentice is their version of an All Star game, they brought in various stars to play, and all the money goes to charity. One thing you can say about The Donald, he gives back to the community - in a very big way. He has a hot daughter too, with a brain! She’s a very smart woman, obviously has learned from the master in regards to good business. Anyhoo, I digress. The men won the competition this week, which was selling broadway tickets to 4 shows..they barely squeaked by, there was only a $2000 difference in the sales figures! (Personally, I don’t think the women are ever going to win!) The team leader for the winning team gets ALL of the monies raised in the competition donated to his/her charity. Team leader this week was Vince Pastore, of Soprano’s fame, and, I am happy to report that he chose a cause near and dear to my heart! His Daughter-in-Law lost her StepFather after a 3 month battle with Pancreatic Cancer, so they made a $50,000 donation to the Lustgarten Foundation for Pancreatic Cancer, in the Stepfathers name! I feel like MY team won!! YAY - more money towards a cure!! I can’t wait to see next weeks episode, as they show the winner giving the check over to someone at the charity, I have no doubt it will be a tear jerker for me!
Oh, and I am SO sure that Mr Trump reads my blog, that I would like to send a HUGE Thank You to him, his entire organization, and the celebrities for donating to this cause, and all of the various causes they have donated to this season. They are doing a very good thing, and that is so refreshing to see. (I actually dreamt last night that I thanked him in person!..HA!)

Did you watch American Idol last night? Hilarious. Now is the time to watch, when they are going through the auditions, because it is pure comedy! It is a constant parade of bad singers, nutjobs, and costumed freaks with funny t-shirts just begging to get on camera…I do not know how some of them can embarrass themselves on national TV like that, but they do! Every season they get a new crop for the freak parade! It’s in again tonight, so I’ll be watching for more laughs!

My latest Netflix was The Guardian, starring Ashton Kutcher, and another of my future husbands, Kevin Costner. To be fair to Kevin, I have been lusting after him for a very long time…so he has been my “future husband” the longest.
I thought this was going to be a mushy chick flick. I am happy to report that I was quite wrong. It was a very good movie, with lots of action and drama. I have a lot more respect for the men and women in the Coast Guard after watching this, theirs is not an easy task. I was surprised at the ending, I won’t give any of it away - I recommend you check this one out.

Tonight is Biggest Loser! Seeing as how scripted TV has gone down the poop chute with the writers strike, unless you are into reruns, your reality shows are the only ones getting any airtime! I have always enjoyed The Biggest Loser, though I’m not really keen on this new “couples” edition - seems kind of unfair to have a partner to drag you down at the weigh in if you have busted your rear all week eating right and working out on the strength equipment. I’ll keep watching though, because Jillian is cool, and Bob the trainer is soooo hot!!
