I can’t believe I forgot to post this yesterday! I’ll blame it on my turkey hangover!
Yesterday was Snoopy’s 9th Birthday!!
I actually didn’t get him until he was about 5 months old - he was the last of the litter and on sale because of that! When I saw him, I immediatley fell in love ! I had never heard of a Basenji, but I knew he was my dog - so I bought him. I took him home only to realize he was too smart for his own good - house trained the first day, chewed my brand new sandals and wooden bed rail (luckily, it was not a sleep number bed!) in the first week, and ate a cushion on my couch in the first month!! That’s okay, Mommy loves him anyway! He has been my roommate, best companion, closest confidante…I love my dog more than I like some people. He got a small blue & white stuffed squeaky cow - and he has been playing with it - a good sign, as he hasn’t been very playful for the past few weeks due to his condition.

Did you see the news this morning?
A black friday crowd, tired of waiting the last few minutes for the store to open, broke down the doors of a Wal Mart in Long Island, NY and STAMPEDED into the store, killing 1 employee and injuring others. The shoppers just kept on running into the store and stepping over the employee on the floor…..
What is wrong with people? Do they have no conscience?
And, the Manager tried to announce they were closing the store back up after it happened….and the shoppers WOULDN’T LEAVE! Are you kidding me? Bunch of freaking animals is what they are, every damn one of them.
Why do people have to be this way? Are they THAT desperate for a cheap TV or Laptop? There is NOTHING in the Wal Mart sale worth killing someone over. I hope they find the responsible parties, and prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.
I do not understand it, and I don’t think I will ever be able to wrap my head around it.

No black friday for me.
I slept in…..well, 8:15….that’s sleeping in for me!
I drank a pot of coffee and read the paper.
I have gone nowhere today.
No stores. No shopping. Nothing.
As a matter of fact, it’s 1:30pm and I’m still in my pajamas! (Shhhh…don’t tell on me)
I’ve cleaned.
I’ve baked 2 pies (I never got around to that yesterday).
I’ve taken the dog out a few times.
I balanced the checkbook and paid the bills.
I paid Stepdad’s bills.
As a matter of fact, for someone who is still in her pajamas, I think I have been very productive!

The turkey is in the oven, I’ll be eating in about 3 hours. I spent my morning at the local Methodist church , where they served over 300 complete turkey dinners! I helped cut & serve 54 pies…….I think I’ll skip dessert this evening!
